Everything You Need to Know About Certified Apostille Translation

Often, an official translation is not something people need help understanding. However, when it comes to certified Apostille translation, the majority need guidance. If you are also unsure of what this service entails and why you need it, then you are in the right place!

Absolute Translations have been providing certified translation services to businesses and individuals worldwide for over 20 years. We have curated our services in order to provide an industry-leading facility. Our expert team have a wealth of experience in working with companies across multi-sectors, in many different languages.

What is an Apostille?

Simply put, an Apostille is an official government issued certificate that is added to documentation to ensure they will be recognised when presented in another country. These certifications exist to prove a document is genuine and legal.

At Absolute Translations, we will prepare your translated documents for presentation to foreign authorities. Our team will translate them and organise for your documents to be notarised by our dedicated notary. We then have them legalised by the FCO.

When do documents need certified apostille translation?

British documents that are being used for personal use, or for business use overseas, may need to be legalised or contain an Apostille (stamp of authenticity) before they can be officially recognised and accepted.

Can you apostille an original document?

Any Apostille certificates can be issued on original UK documents. They can also be issued on certified copies of UK documents. However, this will depend on who is requesting the Apostille. Some authorities will only accept an original document, whereas others will require a copy of the document.

When you request certified Apostille translation from our team, we look at each case individually. Depending on the circumstances, we may not need your original documents. In this instance, photocopies can be scanned and sent by email, posted or they can be handed into one of our local offices. You can also upload documents by using our website. Original paperwork will always need to be presented for cases such as Criminal Record Disclosures, Court Documents, or any document that is issued by the UK Registry Office.
